Radio Use & Information
The Firelands Port Authority Harbor Patrol uses a Gridtalkie Private Network System. This system currently shares a Dispatch Channel with the Firelands Rural Fire District as well as SL Medevac. The radio system is capable of interacting with other departments and agencies "grid wide" via the GMARS network.
Radio numbers and call signs:
When setting your Gridtalkie radio please use the following "call sign" format:
{FP-HP}-31XX (example a patrol officer could be {FP-HP}-3111
Channel setup:
Set your radios as follows:
Channel A- Dispatch
Channel B- Sheriff-1
Channel C - GMARS-1
Sheriff-2 and the other GMARS frequencies may be used at any time by the discretion of the Chief or the Officer in Charge on an active scene.
Dispatching services are provided by the SL Emergency Management Agency (when possible and available). The S.L.E.M.A. uses a radio designator of "Firecom" on the dispatch channel. On the Sheriff frequencies they simply go by "Dispatch." On the GMARS frequencies where other agencies are involved they will announce as "SL-EMA Dispatch."
